Specs: Windows Vista
I have a Toshiba L40 series laptop and have lost my wifi connection. It appears as if my driver is there but it has a red cross by it and when i open the driver it only gives me the option to uninstall shortcut? I have been onto the Toshiba website and downloaded the relevant driver updates but I am still having no joy in connecting wirelessly, No networks are even being picked up. Can anyone assist me?

Check you haven't accidentally switched off the adapter, it's
easily done - it will either be a physical switch on the laptop,
often a small one at the front, or it will be a combination key - Fn
and another.

I definately have the wifi turned on via the switch. I am wondering if the software has been uninstalled. Was hoping that by downloading the driver from the Toshiba website this would be solved. Is there any programs that I should look out for that might be missing?
