OK This is absolutely insane!
My dads computer WILL NOT stay connected to the internet wirelessly! Ive tried 3 different wirless adapters, I even bought a brand new DIR-655 router! I EVEN FORMATTED WINDOWS! My brothers laptop has no problem with this new router or the old one ONLY MY DADS CURES MACHINE! It even says connected sometimes but internet explorer still says page cannot be displayed (connected to router AND INTERNET) Is this becuase of my security? I have it set on auto WPA1 WPA2. My dads computer is CLOSER then my brothers laptop we get excellent signal! THIS HAS GONE ON FOR MONTHES! IM DRILLING A HOLE IN THE WALL AND RUNNING Cat6 in about negative 2 seconds If I dont get to the bottem of this!

There was no reason to format but I would have drilled the hole a long time ago anyway. Is it only IE that has a problem? What about another browser? Have you tried a static IP address?

Disable all encryption and firewalls temporarily. Connect the laptop wirelessly, open a command prompt and run
ipconfig /all
Post the results.

If you want to post both, it can't hurt but
I need the ipconfig /all output from the machine that's giving you trouble.

The ipconfig looks good. Try a static IP address on your father's PC and use the name servers of your ISP instead of your router.

What I meant was, don't use the internal IP address, use the name server IPs instead.

guapo means DNS:

Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.6.9
DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.6.9
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.6.9
NetBIOS over Tcpip. . . . . . . . : Enabled

He means for you to try putting your ISP's DNS server address in with the static IP assignment on your dad's PC.
