Comment: HI all I have recently had to replace a compter on my fathers office network. he is using old thinnet NIC's. When i replaced the computer and put the old network settings in, the other computer could still not see the new computer and vice versa. The settings were lie this. He had Netbeui, IPX/SPX and TCP/IP. I made sure that the settings were the same as the old computer. What is going on? Oh and i waited about 15 minuets after a reboot to see if the they would eventually talk. Any help would be great. Thank YOu

Reply: (edit)Did you install the old network card in the new computer? Most old cards are not plug and play. You will have to manually set the interrupt, port, and maybe address of the card.
