You need to contact your provider about this issue.

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.

From other forums that I've read, these tests failing is not a serious issue. Many ISP's set their gateways not to respond to routers pinging them.

Most likely, your speed problem is completely unrelated to these two diagnostics. If your router had no contact with it's gateway at your ISP, there would be no speed, not low speed.
