I have AOL DSL and bought a netgear wireless router. I ahve the router setup (physically) correct. The problem is that my computer hasn't recognized that it is there. When I go to Network properties and look under configuration and go to to TCP/IP I can't find my netgear protocol. I am totally stuck, I need help!!!! Thanks!

What do you mean NetGear protocol? You don't find it in your network properties because it does act like your modem or hard disk, or CD rom. It is a communication equipment which provides connection with protocol such as tcp/ip, ipx, netbui, etc. All you need to do is get into your Netgear with either telnet, web browser, or hypertrm with console port and configure this unit. Hopefully it helps and good luck.

Actually all you have to do on your local pc is install tcp/ip and set it to the default of dhcp.
connect your nic card with a patch cable to the netgear on one of the 4 provided 10/100 ports.
Plug the dsl cable you used to have connected to your pc into the wan port of the netgear.
Reboot your pc and go into ie. You should be able to browse where ever you want. If not read the manual. If you still can't connect post back.
