tcp ip not installed

Specs: Windows XP
i am using bsnl broadband connection.when i want to connect to internet it is saying that TCP/IP NOT INSTALLED.DISABLE E-MAIL SCANNING IN YOUR SEMANTIC PRODUCT 1003,3. so i removed the semantic anti product. still internet is not connecting. what shall i do?

First you have to make sure your network interface is working. Check in Device Manager. If there is an exclamation mark beside your Network Adapter then you have an issue you have to resolve. It could be as simple as installing up-to-date drivers for the device.

Once you have it working, or if there's no exclamation mark, you will next have to ensure the TCP/IP stack is installed on the interface. If it's not, install it. To check, open the "Properties" sheet for the Network Interface. If you dont' see "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" listed in the "This connection uses the following items:" box, then you'll have to add it. To do so go to:

Install Button >> Protocol >> Microsoft >> Microsoft TCP/IP version 6" and click OK
