Tape storage solution?

Hi all,

I need to find a way to automate my daily backup strategy as follows: We alwaysd perform a dual backup, keeping one of the copies in the adjacent building. This is becoming laborious every day so i wanted to find a way to achieve this by deploying some sort of tape library at the remote location.

However, the solution needs to be cheap, yet it will only be backing up a few megs from a single server, nothing too large. It'll be a small backup perfromed once daily, hence the need for a small, cheap solution.

Any suggestions?

You can automate almost any backup solution. Pretty sure you can use ntbackup. Could consider other backup tools. Rsysc or deltacopy might be made to work.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

You don't mention if there is a network between buildings.

You say a few meg but surely you mean gig?

The words "tape library" are never used in conjunction with "cheap". It simply doesn't exist.

You may wish to automate your backups using ntbackup and the scheduler. You could backup to file across the street if there is a network between buildings.
