Hello,
At home I have a router, and a home LAN. I upgraded two computers in my home LAN to XP pro. I use to be able to logged into a remote computers hard drive within my home LAN before I had XP with the local computers account and password that I had set up. But now, with XP, I cannot do that. Ill set up an account with password on XP, and when I try to logg into that computer remotely, it will prompt me to log in. And thats exactly what I'll attempt to do, but then it does nothing, and the same login prompt just remains there.
How do I disable this, or rather, how do I enable myself to login to the remote machine in my home? I cant even get into my shared folder. It seems like XP has this as a security thing. But on windows 2000 and any version of windows before that, you can do it with no problem. All this is being done without touching the router, all internal IP addresses. And port 445 is blocked on my router. But any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks.

On all the machines connected to the LAN you should create the same users/passwd's combi's. Then login at PC1 with your normal username, and connect to PC2 wich has the same username in its library...
