If you have a 24 port switch do you have to create VLAN's for every node that connects or can you just throw nodes into the ports without configuration.

You usually create a Vlan and add ports that you want to be part of that vlan, You can have several Vlans to split say departments if you like. You don't have to use Vlans, It's optional
