Comment:

I have a Compex S2208B switch and on the first port I have connected my ADSL router (speedtouch 530) ,on the second my pc and on the third an analog telephone adapter (cisco ATA 186) . Sometimes the switch has erratic behaviour meaning that other ports (than the connected) seem to operate (according to the leds) and eventually phone and internet are dead. Is my switch faulty ?

I would suspect either two things; 1. your switch is dying, 2. it is not a VoIP switch and does not know how to hangle the Voip converter (cisco ATA 186)traffic which causes a broadcast storm thereby disabling all interfaces.

Run with the 186 disconnected and see if the problem goes away.

Golly gee wilerkers everyone. Learn to Internet Search
