Subject: Strange Way to Access Shared Folder
OS: Windows XP
CPU/Ram: Intel
Model/Manufacturer: Toshiba
Comment:
I have 2 notebooks and 1 desktop on my home wireless network. All machines run Windows XP (SP2). Here is the config:

Wireless Router: D-Link DI-524
Wireless Ethernet Bridge/Print Server: Netgear WGPS606
PC1 connects to DI-524 wirelessly via wireless network card DWL-G520
Notebook 1 connects wirelessly via integrated wireless card
Notebook 2 connects to WGPS606 via wired ethernet cable

Here is my strange problem:

I open up Notebook 2 "My Network Places" via Windows Explorer and I double-click the PC1 shared folder, it won't open the folder. Then I open a second Windows Explorer and go to "My Network Places" and double-click the PC1 shared folder, it opens the folder instantly.

Everytime I need to access PC1 shared folder, I need to open two "My Network Places" window explorers and only the second one can access that shared folder.

Anyone has this same problem? Anyone can offer some fix to this strange problem?

so no interface confusion. If you connect notebook2 directly to the DI-524 does the problem still exist?
