when should use a cross over cable, when connecting two hubs/switches from uplink port to uplink port or should i use strait trou cable for that connection?

When you connect from uplink to uplink, use a straight cable. When you connect from uplink to any other port on the second hub, use a crossover cable.

Actually, your uplink port is a x-over port so your staight-through cable would go from a uplink port to just a normal port on the second hub/switch. On some hub/switches the uplink port can be either a x-over port or a normal port(sometimes a small button, sometimes a switch). Never tried a x-over cable from a uplink port to an uplink port though.
