Are there any programs I can use that will allow me to see who is connected to my linksys Wireless-G router? My connection gets real poor sometimes and I really want to know if my neighbor is stealing my bandwidth. I want to turn the wireless feature off on my router but I have my brother in law connected to my router from the attic. I really appreciate any replies.

You can see if anyone is using your connection by using the routers utilities. Usually it is at 192.168.1.1 for Linksys routers. Not sure of what model you have but on the WRT54G it is at "status," "local network", "DHCP clients table." You should only see your computer and your brother in laws computer listed.

To keep out your neighbor you should set up security on the wireless connection. Several options are available. You can set up "key" called WEP or use WPA. Both the router and your brother in laws computer would need to be configured the same way.

Another feature is to tell the router to only allow your brother in laws MAC address to connect to the router.

You have changed the default name on the router AND disabled SSID broadcast?

Lots of ways to tighten things up, all at no cost. Check your specific router documentation for more.

Good luck!
