My wireness network is sporadic and fickle, at least on my end. I have cable modem running into a wireless router. The router connects via ethernet cable to a the Downstairs computer, and connects via wireless to an Upstairs computer and two notebooks. All of the computers have good access to the internet, and all the computers accept the Upstairs computer can share files with each other. The Upstairs computer's performance is sporadic; sometimes it can share files/printers, other times it cannot. I have not, to my knowledge, changed any settings, much less anything that would affect my network. The problem seems to come and go sporadically. If anyone has any suggestions for where to even *start* looking for problems or things to change, I would be extremely greatful.

Probably a bad location. Try moving the WAP or the computer around a bit to see if that makes any difference.

Afternoon all,

I would definitly agree with the Interference conclusion.

One way to investigate this would be to use a higly useful tool called netstumbler, this www.netstumbler.com, this tool will allow you to access the available Wireless Access Points complete with Signal noise/quality.

This may well give you an insight into why you are experiencing your problems and may help with positioning your WAP in a low interference area.

All the best and good luck.
