What are you trying to log into here? If it is your router and you've forgotten the password then it is usually possible to reset the unit to manufacturer's default. Your manual should tell you how.

I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

muted black,

You can look for small RESET hole (normally at the back) to initialize your router to factory settings.
BTW, which make is this ?

I think you should leave the password 'blank' and username should be 'admin'.

Unless, you changed your password, then you will have to reset it by pressing the reset button with a pin at the back of your router.

If that's a wireless router, DO NOT leave the password blank.

I'm assuming its a Linksys router based on what I can read on the link you posted. For that model the default login is
User: admin
Pass: [blank]

If you had changed it at one point in time, then it obviously won't be that.
If those don't work, as the others have said push and hold the small reset button on the back of the router for 30 seconds. Then unplug both the router and modem, and again wait 30 seconds. Plug in your modem, then your router and try logging in with the credentials I stated before.

I would recommend changing the user and password once you are logged in, and also encrypt your LAN.

Hope this helps
