Hi all..
Hrmph, why is there a limit on the length of the subject line? There's was no way to fit an accurate description of my problem on it. ;)
I have two WinXP machines connected to each other through a LAN. I have installed ICS, and both the computers connect to the net through the 56kbit modem on this computer.
Everything works all fine and great, except for that some sites just refuse to open on the client computer. These sites work normally on the gateway computer, and the ones that do not open on the other one seem pretty much random, although none of them have opened once to this day.
I had this problem back when both were running Win98SE, and it didn't go away after upgrading the OSes.
From the client computer, I can access sites like www.evreka.fi (a search engine) and www.leonia.fi (a bank), but not sites like www.merita.fi (another bank) or www.sauk.fi (a vehicle department whatever site). I fail to see how they differ, and why some work and some don't! :)
Please, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

IMO
It is possible that software, like java, needs to be interactively installed and it thinks your on the main computer instead of the client so it gets bad info like it's installed already. Kind of like how microsoft wants only that computer to talk to to get it's upgrades.

Hmm, it doesn't sound impossible.. Although those sites that don't work are pretty much the same as the ones that do. No extra-fancy Java stuff etc. :)
Thanks.. I wonder if there's a solution at all?

Ok try this. On the client computer click tools/internet options/connections/LAN settings/ check use a proxy server. Enter 192.168.0.1 (or whatever the IP address is of your host computer). port 9877. Click advanced and check use a proxy server for all protocols.
