solaris Xwin not opening window

August 12, 2009 at 06:24:26
Specs: solaris 8
Hi all,
I have a problem opening XWin into my solaris 8 machine (machine name is dx_blade), from my laptop - when i start XWin and then enter the command:

X :4 -query 125.128.43.217 -once -logverbose 3 -clipboard

the login screen appears, now when i enter the username/password it seems to accept and loads the screen saying 'welcome to CDE'... but then promptly shuts down for some reason?

I have included the log file below...
I would appreciate any help as this has been driving me mad for days!!
cheers marc

I've never had any luck starting an X windows session remotely. I just tried it on FreeBSD. KDE attempted to start but stopped.

If you seach Google for startx remotely, you'll get a lot of hits.

How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.
