I came top visit my Dad and he has a HP Pavilion a6600f running Windows Vista. I am not sure when it stopped work or if it ver worked. The problem he is having is that we cannot seem to get to any web pages. I either get an 404 error or the url changes to http:///. In addition we are getting a Socket Error: 10061, Port 110, Protocol: POP.No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. If I do an ipconfig it shows we have an IP address, and I am able to ping things like www.google.ca and pop.telus.net which is the incoming mail server we are using in Incredimail. I ran Malwarebytes and it found on infected item which it cleaned up but the problem still persists. Does anyone have any ideas of what the problem is.
