I bought an SMC 7004VBR barricade router about a month ago. Since I've had a hell of a time getting it to allow any FTP sever to work. I have set up the router to allow ports 1974 & 1975 (I use 1975 for my ftp server) I also opened ports 20 & 21 for testing reasons (still doesn't work) I was using bulletproof at first, and spent over an hour with SMC technical support trying to get it to work with no luck. I couldn't even connect from my own computer or another computer connected via the router, so I tried a few others. Now I'm using Cerberus which allows me to connect from the other computer on the network, but outsiders still can't connect. Does anyone else have this router and an FTP server succesfully working? If so how do you have it configured?

I have Serv-U program.. on port 21 behind the same router.. working fine outside the network.it was plug and play for mine...

i know that doesn't really help out.. but it is working fine for me.. it should be with you..

maybe if you try making your ftp on 21 by default..

another thing is try unplugging the router and then reinstalling the ftp server program and then then plug it back to the network... also make sure your ips are set right( which i am assuming you already have that right)

Same here rinkguy. Get yourself SERV-U and you'll save yourself a lot of headaches. It's simple to install and configure. You should be able to change the port without any problems too. I had SERV-U for over a year without any issues.

Bulletproof seems a little to bulletproof because the damn thing won't even work.

TECHZAPORT OUT!!!
