Smartstack 24 Port Ethernet Switch Questions

Hi! I am wondering if I can set up a LAN system in a spare room we have. I recently acquired a 24 port Smartstack network switch and I was wondering what I do to get it connect to all my computers? I have a Cable Modem and a Router already hooked up to 3 Desktops and a laptop that comes and goes but often have friends bring over laptops instead of Desktops because we cant hook it up. Can I connect the Modem to the switch and then the Router to the Switch? The model number is ELS100-24TXM thanks!

The router stays connected to the modem & the switch gets connected to the router. Connect your friends PCs to the switch. Some switches have a WAN port. Others can use any port, to connect it to the router. How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.
