I have an AN9 Fatal1ty MOBO with Dual Gigabit Ethernet Jacks and I'm trying to setup a home network between two computers. Local Area Connection(LAC) and LAC2 are the two connections I have. I can connect through LAC but the other computer cannot connect to LAC2, it gives me limited or no connectivity. I have tried everything under the sun to get it to work. I don't use a router. I go straight through the two jacks on my computer. It has worked before on the same OS. Everything is run correctly. Repair, doesn't work, neither does rebooting the modem, or disabling the NIC, or restarting. I am ready to throw this entire computer through a window. Please help. Thanks in advance.

I assume that you mean that the two can not communicate between them at all but some other connection works on the first nic.
Are you sure you have a correct cable. Most gig adapters require a cat6. Most newer nic's can autonegotiate for the correct patch/crossover cable but may have issues if the cable isn't cat 6. The adapters seems to get confused as to how to connect.
Also you would need to have the adapters on the same subnet. Simply click on the apipa or add in static IP address with almost any subment mask.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.

XP is not a router.
You would be much better off picking up a $30 home dsl gateway/router.
