I have 3 PCs on a home network, 2 wired and 1 wireless. If I run a broadband speed test on the wired PCs I get 6.1Mb/sec down 244 Kb/sec up. Run the same test on the wireless PC I get 3.8 Mb/sec down 244 Kb/sec up. How can I increase the speed of the wireless internet connection? Have tried disconnecting DECT cordless phone, swapping wireless channel, even a higher gain aerial on the PC, no change! Signal strength 80%, wireless connection speed mostly 54 Mb/Sec. Modem/router/firewall is an Orange Livebox (supplied by my ISP, provides free VOIP phone connection), the PC has a Linksys WMP54G PCI wireless card. The only other thing I can think of doing is to disable the wireless connection on the Livebox and hard wire a Linksys WAG54G to the Livebox, use the livebox as a modem and the WAG54G to connect to the wired and wireless PCs. Perhaps the WAG54G will give a faster wireless connection also has the facility for an external aerial. All advice gratefully received! Thanks Shaun
