i have a dlink 624 rev c router and i am getting an extremely slow wireless connection to my laptop. my laptop is blazing at other hotspots.
i also have computers connected directly to the router and those are blazing as well so it is just the wireless side. I have recently upgraded the firmware on the router because i need it to be compatable with xbox live. Unfortunately, it seems like the firmware is at fault.
anyone familiar with this router/firmware problem or have any ideas what might be up?

Not sure if your problem is similar to mine, but I have 4 PCs on my home network: two are wired to my D-Link DI-604 router, and two are wireless. The two wireless PCs have access through a D-Link access point. All four had good network and Internet speeds until I decided to run encryption on the router (WEP). Then my speeds really dropped on both wireless PCs. Once I disabled WEP, the speeds were back to normal.

also, the problem is with a mac laptop. haven't had a chance to test with a non mac laptop but i do not believe that is the issue since there is no encryption.
Summary: First. I know its a hassle. But to rule out the (vista) computer settings you need to physically connect the vista computer to the ethernet where your xp is and see if the speed is still slow. If it...
