I recently setup a Linksys wireless G router 2.4GHz/802.11g at home. The two laptops we have connect and perform fine, the wired computer internet access has become very slow. The router is encrypted and SSID is not broadcasted. Some help/guidance would be appreciated. A bit of a novice, and not sure what is happening

I take it when you are using the wired connection that the 2 laptops are either not on the network or are not using lots of bandwidth.
If not then try clearing the IE Cache and cookies. Is it slow when browsing all websites/particular websites/downloads or all?
Have you tried another browser such as firefox and have you checked for spyware.
Try the following with no Broswer windows open and no applications running in background such as P2P or torrents.
If you got to Start > Run > type "cmd" and click OK
Then type "netstat -a" and press ENTER
See how many connections are established. There should be a maximum of 1 established, if theres any more then probably a spyware issue, if none then most likely browser issue

Thanks, I ran Norton Internet Security, it is not showing any spyware issues. The connections look ok using the commands you recommended. Cleaned cookies and temp files out. The problem is just sluggish browsing in general, and is still going on. Without being able to justify it, it seems like the wired connection is "competing" with the wireless setup for access and bandwith, even when the other computers are not connected. I am going to look at the browser issues you suggested as well, any other thoughts? I have a gut feeling it has something to do with the router.

If browsing speed is ok on 2 other devices then usually indicates somehting on the PC. I wouldn't worry about the fact that it is a wired connection it shouldn't make any difference.
Try boot into safe mode with networking and see if its the same, if that resolves it then it will be something starting up with your PC which is causing the problem
