1.5Mbps would be a normal good connection for DSL. But 8.1Mbps?? Either your ISP has a problem or the "program" reporting that connection speed is confused. May be a dial-up software program reporting those unreal numbers.

what the hell is wrong with you??? 1.5Mbps is very bad for an ADSL cnnection, my get a standard of 100.0Mbps.... If 1.5Mbps is so good why is my web browsing so slow and download speeds of 2.33Kbps??
Thnaks...

Actaully, I think you are right JackG.
There are 3 main types of speeds for ADSL.
1.5 downstream -768 upstream.
768 downstream - 384 upstream.
384 downstream - 256 upstream.

There other several combination as well.
but you get the idea.

I have never heard of a 100.00Mbps, on a ADSL connection.
I have heard however a 100Mbps LAN connection. Which would only be the LAN speed not the ADSL speed.
I would check browser setting, and I would also check prior dial setting for prior dial-up services. Sometimes its a good idea to remove them all.

Good Luck!
