Slow connection to Mac

Computer A = Windows XP SP2 2 GHz Proc 1 Gig Mem. Computer B = Mac OSX When you try to send a file to the Mac it will take an extremely long time, ie; 4meg MP3 will take 22 minutes, as compared to another windows machine @ 55 seconds. This occurs on any windows that will send to the Mac. But if the Mac will pull, or get, the file from the windows machine then it will be around the 1 minute time. Also when the Mac would send a file then there is no problem. Thanks for any info provided.

You do not need AppleTalk. It's more of the reverse that is true. Any non-Windows OS needs Samba to share files, printers and such with Windows SMB machines. OS X, Unix, Linux, IRIX, and the rest all have Samba. Apple's OS 9 does not have Samba or SMB without a 3rd party Samba/SMB handler.
