On a home network hardwired through a Linksys router to a cable modem, one machine is very slow in connecting to the Internet. The cable and connector are intact. I have cleaned it up as much as possible. IE, Firefox and Chrome all act the same. Instant messaging (AIM) and iTunes are on all the time. What else can I try?

Download, update & run anti malware from malwarebytes.org
How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.

I don't think it's a malware issue.
I have run Spybot and Ad-Aware on it and keep Spyware Blaster updated, and the computer is run behind the Windows Firewall. It also has the latest version of AVG Antivirus, with auto-updating.
Also, since posting, I ran the Network Diagnostics under Windows Help and it lists network connectors as Failed. I don't know what else to do to follow this up.

I've seen anti malware find things that the others didn't. That's why I recommended it. If you don't think it's related, try safe mode. Also, run ipconfig /all on the problem machine & compare it to a working machine.
