Hello guys, i have a question about sliding window size

Consider two servers are directly connected by using a b bits per second link with a round-trip-time of r
seconds. The two servers are using a transport protocol that sends segments containing s bytes and acknowledgements
composed of a bytes. Can you derive a formula that computes the smallest window (measured
in segments) that is required to ensure that the servers will be able to completely utilise the link ?

if someone has an idea ...

Now there's a ridiculous homework question!

What is the point of this stupid question anyhow?

If you don't know, ask your instructor. I wager he can't give you a good answer. But just for entertainment purposes, if you can get an answer out of him, come back here and tell me what he said.

I've been working in the computing field for over 16 years now. The last 6.5 of those as a network technician in an enterprise network. I have never once done anything like the above and can think of no possible reason to ever need to.

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.
