I am trying to connect 2 routers together by using a crossover cable. I am going from Lan 1 port to Lan 1 port.
Upon constructing and inserting the cable, I don't show any link light activity. Assuming my crossover cable is correctly constructed, shouldn't I have a link light on LAN port 1 for each router?
I want to be sure before I rip the connectors off of my cable and try again.

Your routers may not connect that way. Go to the vendors website and see if you are supposed to use the uplink port instead of lan port 1. And you may not need a crossover cable. It depends on the vendor.
Why are you trying to connect two routers together? If it's to get more ports into your network, then you should connect the 2nd router's up-link port to one of the 1st router's lan ports. Although, that will create a sub-network within your network...might need to do some fancy tricks to get all 7 or so computers together
