I don't know if this applies to me but my networking specialist with canon printer tech support told me that making a daisy chain could fix my problem. can someone help please?
ok, i have at&t dsl with the uverse boxes that has the ethernet jack in the back. so i have one desktop in the living room connected directly to the wireless modem hub via ethernet there and i have one destop in the kitchen nook hooked up via ethernet cable into one of the at&t cable boxes and another router. i needed this other router because the multi function printer needed to be connected to the computer as well. the wire set up ther is the wall to the (extra) router, the router to the cable box, and the router to the printer. i did this becuase this is where i need the printer. also, the printer is not connected to the computer via usb. only the ethernet cable is hooked up to the router.
finallly the problem is that i can't get my laptop to connnect to the printer wirelessly. the laptop in on the same ip as the one desktop thats in the living room (without the printer), and the desktop and printer are on a seperate ip address. so without being able to move the hub cable modem or moving the printer i need to make my laptop sync to the printer as well. Can you guys help me?

I can't follow your post.
Most home routers are really switches (hubs) on one side. If you disable the dhcp they are as any switch. Allow only one upstream device to provide ip's or use static ip's.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.
