Hello,
I've been doing a lot of research about this but nothing i have found have solve my problem.
2 computers at home running XP Pro SP2 on a home network using a router.
I put a share on the C drive and on My Documents on both computers.
From HER side: She see and have complete access to My documents but as for my C drive, she only see the content (root only) without being able to do anything else on my C drive.
From my side: I also see the content of her C drive (root only, no more), but i CANNOT have access to her My Documents folder at all (contrary to her).
- Simple file sharing is checked on both computers
- Windows firewall is off on both computers
- We both have Administrator access
- Each time i decide that i want to put a new share on a folder, it instantly appears on both side
Any help would be appreciated.

Is Norton running on either PC? Delete Norton if you see it. Shoot on site.
On each machine, click start, run, type
\\IP_address of the other machine and press enter. The shares should open on the screen. Drag and drop them to the desktop.
If the shares don't appear, make a note the error message.

I tried but i think that there is something missing in your syntax. When i type \\188.200.123.24 (this is only an example)
This is what i got:
The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect.

That's a strange error message for that type of connection. For some reason, you used a routable IP address as your example, when it should have been an internal IP. The reason I'm mentioning that is I want to be sure that you're not attempting the share over the net. It should be through the LAN only. Hiding and external IP makes sense but hiding an internal IP doesn't.
Other than that, I would look at the workgroup names and I would try
\\192.168.0.100/c$
Add the /c$ to the IP.

No, sorry, i really use anything as an ip address for my example, i didn't know it was a routable one. :-)
Now, since once again i'm at work right now, i will try to do as you said with the c$ as soon as there is someone who can do the test back home by phone for me.
I really appreciate your help by the way, so please stand bye.

Ok, here's what i got:
On her side: It said "The network path was not found"
On my side: It open a window asking for a password to the remote computer.
Since i did not used passwords when i installed the 2 windows, i simply click ok and it asked for the password again.

I think you have to have a username/password setup to do what you want.
I have NOT lost my mind — I have it backed up on tape somewhere

Maybe, but, for practical reasons, i did not want to have an admin password during windows install.
Anyway, even if i enter a password, during the preceding tests, only one way of communication was possible, so there not much use by adding a password.
I wish there was a big red easy button. :-)
