k, im not sure exactly how to refer to this, so ill just try to describe it.
i have a computer running windows 2000 server, and its set up as a domain controller. now, there are other computers, who are members of this domain, and each has their own exclusive login. ive set the server to only let the user login on one particular computer.ie, each computer essentially can only have one user associated with it.
k, so heres what i want to do:
i want it so all computers have their harddrives shared completely, but only accessible remotely by users with administrative priveleges. ive been able to accomplish this with the server, because all the users are listed in the add permissions list. however, ive run in to difficulties trying to establish this on other computers, because the add permissions list only shows users on the local computer, and not on the network.so what i want to know is, how do i make it so the computers look to the server for a list of users?
thanks,
Dave

set the pcs administrator account to have the same password as the server administrator. Access the remote pcs using the default admin share c$.

thanks, that works. but heres another question: can i do the same thing, or something similar with another computer (not the server)?
i guess i forgot to mention, i want to be able to do what i describe from another computer, with admin priveleges, but not actually the win2000 server.
lets see if i can make a diagram here..
my desktop (admin) ->\
my laptop (user) -> \ /-> server
other computer (user) -> / -> router w/ 4 port switch -> cable modem
other laptop (user) ->/i want to be able to access all computer's harddrives from my desktop, but without allowing any other computers besides the server from doing the same.
