The link is broken.

Is the routers ADSL light lit?

Have you configured the router to connect to your ISP with user name and password?

Does the router configuration screen show a connection with public IPA address and default gateway.

What model of router do you have?

Stuart

Thanks for coming back to me mate :)

The link is correct but was down.

The modem which is USB is connected to the PC.
The router is located between the PC and the Laptop.

Both router's Ethernet lights are green and flashing. its a linksys model: BEFW11s4. wireless, but Im using it wired at the moment.

And as I said, the PC does have internet connection and both PC and Laptop see each other, but the Laptop doesnt have ping to the internet.

Why not use a Crossover Cable between the PC and Laptop ??

Internet Connection Sharing by default gives the HOST 192.168.0.1 and the CLIENT 192.168.0.2. A router will need to be manually configured......

Easier to buy a combined modem/router and ditch the USB Modem IMHO!

It's a wireless router. after I'll get it up and running I'll want to have my laptop working wireless. I already have it and don't want to spend money on a gateway.
Can anyone help me configure it, or point me to a website that offers a good explanation?

Whatever you do, with a USB modem you are going to have to set up and Configure Internet Connection Sharing. This is Windows software and Windows will have the instructions on how to do this. It is a software solution to replace the hardware solution provided by the router. You can't use the router to share an internet connection unless it has a modem plugged into it.

You would be better purchasing an Ethernet modem and plugging that into the router. Far more reliable and the way it is supposed to be used. At the moment you are just using the router as a switch. The router part isn't doing anything. Using the wirless in these circumstances will be difficult as the standard instructions on how to do it won't apply to you although it can be done but everything will have to be manually configured.

Instructions for the BEFW11s4 can be found here: http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Sate...

Ok thanks lads!
I finally figured it out.
I connected both network cables to the router's LAN slots, but as soon as I connected the one coming in to the WAN slot, the pings started to go through :)
