I have one Highspeed Internet Connection. I would like to hook a 2nd PC to the same connection. Is my only option to use a Hub or Router to supply internet to the 2nd PC?
Just looking for options!
(Wireless not important, as the PC's are located close to one another).Adonis

You could connect the 2nd PC to the 1st PC and use ICS (Internet Connection Sharing). However this requires that the 1st PC have 2 network cards and that the 1st PC must be on for the 2nd PC to have access.
However, a Router is the best option. It allows all PCs to have access without a "host" PC needing to be on and it adds a very good level of protection from anyone trying to access your PCs from the Internet.
You can use a Hub or Switch if your provider allows you to have multiple IP addresses. However, using a hub or switch does not give you any protection like a router does. And, the price of a router is usually the same as a switch anyway.

http://www.google.co.uk for Internet connection sharing, requirement one xover rj45 cable and 2x NICs...
or
purchase a router....
Actually you could use the forum search engine this question gets asked on average once a day

Use a proxy software to share if you don't want to use ICS. Most if not all proxies are not limited to that silly IP address MS uses. That means you can use your dhcp assigned IP.

Darn, you can also use any number of remote desktop ideas too.
Might even use firewire to firewire if exists.
You could use other ideas like tcp across serial but that is rather complex.
Any number of almost free usb adapters out there that would work fine. No need to open box unless you have to.
