Specs: Windows 7
Hi All,

I was just wondering if there was any way i
could share my internet connection at home
(Host Computer) over a VPN to my laptop at
another location (Client), the reason i want to
do this is because my university has restricted
access to certain sites and downloading etc. I
have looked into setting up a proxy but would
prefer to do it this way if it's possible?

I have been searching the internet and can't
seem to find any concrete guide, some forums
have suggested using hamachi then sharing
the internet connection via that. Does anyone
know how i could do this or even if it's
possible? The host computer is running
windows vista and is connected to the internet
by a netgear router and the client computer is
running windows 7.

Would be great if anyone could give any

It is not going to work.

If your Internet connection for the client computer goes through the Universities Internet connection you are going to come up against the same problem. They are going to block a VPN connection in double quick time

To set up a VPN between your home computer (the host) the and your computer (the client) without going through the universities Internet connection is going to require a separate Internet connection - and that costs money.

I have connected to a free VPN at the university so they don't
block access to VPN as far as I am aware. Is there a way to do

it can be does pretty easily.

The problem is you are still bypassing the schools rules and could subject the schools to unwanted virus, malware and rootkits.
