my laptop is connected to the cable modem through LAN port and both my friend's and my laptops are connected each other in wireless lan. I need help to share that internet connection between both laptops. Is that possible to share internet in this manner?

I like to use Analogx's free proxy. It is a program that shares the connection. Use the read me file for how to set up the browser in the other computer and you config.

Pretty easy.

Could use ICS but I am not a fan of it.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
