Im trying to set my network up to share files and printer within my home network.
I have a desktop connected by eithernet cable and 2 laptops connected via wirless. All 3 computer are connected by a wireless/cable ADSL Modem all 3 comps connect to internet fine but i am really struggerling to get all three to see each other on the network. Wheni plug one of my laptops in to the ADSL modem via eithernet cable i can share folders fine its just when i try and share over the wireless.
Anyone have any ideas
Please if yo need anymore info let me know

Ok, for starters is the wireless adapter in the cards working, so can u access the internet wirelessely?
AMD 4200 X2 64bit
Asus A8N-SLI MB
2GB DDR 3200 2X 1GB
MSI 7900GTX Card
200GB X2, 250GB X2, 300GB SATA Hard Drives

You don't say what router you are using but...
Some routers have a feature called AP Isolation. It's intended to prevent other wireless devices from seeing each other as a means of security. A good thing for a public hotspot.
You may have to turn it off so that you can see the other PC's.

wildcat,
I think i know what is going on here.Try this and let me know what the result will be.Share a folder on one of the computers connected by cable. On the wireless computer,go to run command and type the Ip address of that computer that has a shared folder.Example:If i want to access any data on drive c:\,i know that drive c has a hidden share:C$,i will type->\\192.168.0.2\c$ and click ok.Hoping that these pcs are all on the same subnet, the computer with the share will popup a password and username screen. You will then enter the password and username of the account with permission to access that share on that computer,e.g the local admin. This should then allow you to access any shared resources on any of these computers. This is how i am able to share my files and folders. If you need to see each and every computer in my network places, you will need to enable netbios over TCP/IP in the WINS tab of the TCPIP configuration page.
I hope this will help you,if not let me know we shall walk thru the problem until we resolve it.
Note:If you want to access these share by computer name you will need the Name resolution system(DNS)installed.
Regards,
