Sharing files for remote users

Specs: Server 2008, Vista
Basically the company i work for have employees
travelling overseas all the time. The local users in the
office in Sydney access the files stored on the file
server in the office. Is there a way for the travelling
employees to access these file drives? Like maybe
by mapping a network drive or something? Im stuck
really bad! So thankyou to anyone who can help.

The users will be using laptop with windows vista.
The server software is MS Server 2008.

You'll need to setup VPN so that the users can access your network securely when connecting remotely.

Yep, set up a VPN server and have remote users connect to office network via VPN connection. Feel free to try on this OpenVPN.

I would suggest you get a router with vpn capablities and a vpn client you install on the remote users pcs/laptops. This way you logon to the router and get authenicated vs going thru the router to a open vpn server you had to setup and configure.

Thankyou so much guys! Il definantly get moving on the VPN setup today. I have a belkin N1 Vision Router that has PPTP VPN would this work?
