Hi guys, I have an HP Media Center PC using my DSL connection @ home. My house is network ready, so I'm using the network outlet of my office for this.
Now, I want to configure a LAN with Windows 2000 Server in my office and use the network outlets all around the house, but I want to keep the DSL connection on the HP PC and share it.

Easy, get analogx proxy. You have to have two nic's (real or virtual) in the media center. Then use the lan side nic ip address (use any private static number) as your proxy address. Use proxy readme file for the correct ports.
I think you should consider a different approach. You might be better off making modifications to the modem to act as a pass through. Then get a simple soho router that is made for internet. Then use the router to connect to the dsl company. Use the router to provide dhcp and dns to your home. Use the router's LAN IP as the default gateway and dns ip address's in the home computers. The basic soho router has a good level of firewalling and protection if you use it correctly. It will protect your home setup.

Summary: That was helpful Joshua. Yes you can share dsl with a switch but you have to use XP's ICS [internet connection sharing]. This requires a pc to have two nics. One goes to dsl. One goes to the switch...
