Shared Printer -- access denied

I'm trying to access a shared printer connected through LPT1 on a W2K Pro computer. XP Home computer can see it, but always gets access denied-unable to connect when I attempt to connect to it through add printer. When I connect to the W2K computer through "View Workgroup Computers" I enter a user name and password. Then I can print--but this doesn't help the users since I can't make it appear in their list of printers to choose from. P.S.The users of the XP comp. are not tech savvy so I need the printer to show up in their lists and not require any logons or reinstalls. Can this be done? Thanks!
