does anyone know can I share aol dsl? use with dlink 704p router.please help me.

I assume you have the Actiontec USB dsl modem. Put a NIC in the PC interfaced to the modem and download software from www.InterNetShare.com . AOL uses a proprietary PPPoE protocol and to my knowledge no router to my knowledge can directly interface. I will attempt the same thing shortly with a Linksys BEFW11S4 4 port switch/router wireless access point. I will have 2 units hardwired to the switch and 3 using wireless 802.11b NIC's. I have read others have been successful yet you can only have one AOL session active at a time yet the others can simultaneously access the internet through a browser.

i was looking into sharing AOL high speed broadband delivered through cable, which also supposedly uses proprietary PPPoE. I was told that AOL 7.0 supports what they call MSL or multiple simultaneous logins. AOL will supposedly sell you a linksys router with proprietary firmware that will support doing this. I spoke with reps from both AOL and linksys, both of whom knew something about it, but it was so 'new' they didnt have all the details. each user will of course have to load the aol software and login before having access to the net. i personally think its too much trouble, and got a standard cable modem and kept a 4.95/month aol plan so i could get my email.
