setting up wirless network

I want to set up a wireless network between desktop pc and laptop. Desk top has cable modem with out router. I have a sitecom usb adapter 11mbps for desktop and a bluetake lan pcmcia card for my laptop both 802.11b. Desktop running win xp home laptop win xp pro. Do i need anything else? Any simple guides out there on setup? Many thanks!

You'll need a wireless router. If you're cable modem is in close proximity to your desktop computer you wont need that USB adapter because you can just connect your desktop via Ethernet. Other than the router you have everything you'll need.
As far as setup documentation, it should come with the router.
