I just need a guide or how-to for setting up wireless network that shares highspeed internet connection, like a linksys wireless router. I'm more concerned on how to set the security of it, like wep or something. The manuals are so confusing i just need a basic explanation on setting up a wireless network securely so no one else can access it and gain internet access. Thank you misters and misses.

Firstly, you should check the website of the company that made your router. The router will act as a firewall, and is the focus point of all your security. I like Linksys, go to thier site and search the knowledge base for "wireless security" they have a great how to guide.

You will want to:
change the default password
change the SSID
Enable Mac Filters

This is a good start but you can go further by enabling WEP encryption and assigning IP addresses to your computers, then tell your router to only talk to them. Also, if you have WinXP enable the XP Firewall in your network connections. This WILL interfere with VPN connections, and possibly printers but it's not a problem for most people in a home environment.
