Setting Up Network

I am currently attending college at which I am connected to the internet through the schools network. I was wondering if it is possible to set up another network using my wireless router between my desktop and laptop (I don't want to share internet connection) and I have two NIC cards is this possible? How to approch this? This is cool

Yep, that will work fine. Just make sure your mini-network doesn't use the same network addressing as the college network.
