Hey. I have been trying to set up my ftp server under windows IIS for qquite a while. I set up the virstual server in the d-link router. After a while i tried to reboot my router, and that worked! but now, like every couple of hours, if i dont rebbot my router, my server goes bad!. I am using a DMZ set to the same computer as the server is on, if that helps. I have to, for direct connect. Thanx guys.

Have youi tried forwarding the ports your server uses through the router???

I cannot work out how you have forwarded the conections, try using NAT or port forwarding on the router to forward requests to your web server to the computer that is the server

I just through of a couple more things:)

When you router needs to be rebooted does the internet still work??

Maybe it's a problem with your router or something.

Have you tried turning it off, by unplugging it and then plugging it back in??

I don't know if restarting the router is the same thing, as I don't use them :) I use a linux box to route for me. No money for a router:))

I run many services with my D-Link gateway (DI-704P).

The DMZ setting should not be used, and I have found it to be quit buggy.

You need to determine the ports necessary (80 obviously) and set the gateway to forward them to you host.

Also, putting IIS in your DMZ is asking for trouble.

Everything is configured correctly. I am tellin you guys.. the only possibility are setting that are un obvoise. In iss, there is no IP address in the list, it reamins on unassigned, but even with the propper Ip, it doesnt make a difference. It somthing else, not the obvoise settings. I upgrtaded firmware. There is one possibility, OOn the systems i used it, they had the latest service packs. It needs to be rebooted to work.
