I have 3 computers at homeoffice. Am connected to the net through broadband and am also having Linksys router to connect the systems to the net. No problems there. But what I would like to do is set up a network between the computers so that file sharing between the systems could be done.
Can some one advise ?
Many thanks.

Are are two good sites to look at with info you'll need.
homenethelp.com and wown.comAnd the good people here are good at problem solving.
Welcome

If you have a router it's fairly straight forward. Set up all your PCs as "clients" of the router. Under networking properties set "Assign IP Address Automatically" and "Use DHCP Server for WINS resolution". Under Network Id give all your computers the same WORKGROUP name but individual Computer Names.
Enable file/printer sharing on the machines you wish to share files from and under My Computer select the files, folders, drives, and/or printers you wish to share and under the properties for those resources enable Sharing. Use an 11+ character password on the shared resource for security. The first time you access a share from another PC you'll have to input that password but you can set it to remember the password thereafter.
You'll need Client for Microsoft Networks installed to each machine. The basic network protocol you'll need is TCP/IP of course, and make sure NETBIOS is bound to this. Some network devices and older games also require IPX/SPX protocol be loaded and bound to NETBIOS. Don't bother with NETBEUI; it doesn't work across a router.

I run a Win98/2K network using a Linksys Cable/DSL Router and Netbeui works fine for me. Just set all machines to same workgroup, set router to obtain dynamic IP, set machines however you prefer for IP. Enable file and print sharing, then setup shares.
For extra security unbind tcp/ip from file and print sharing, and set netbeui as the default protocol for sharing.
