I have a USB 2.0 printer that i want to give access to people in my house.

Correct me if im wrong:

I buy a wireless print server (read about pros of it) and then connect the printer to the wireless print server. And then from there the printer should be available to everyone correct? Wirelessly of course.

then from here , can i administrate whos on the printer and whos printing?

Also i have a computer that basically runs our wireless network. The internet cable comes in to the one computer and then sends it out via wireless access point.

Would this printer that i am going to designate for wireless printing need to have any physical connection to that computer?

Thanks for all the help.

So much information in my head...

Well, First Off I dont suggest running it wirlessly cuase it can be extremely slow. But thats just me. But the answer to your question is here.
Step 1. make sure each computer is on the network under the same name.
Step 2. install your printer drivers to your server (the computer you are going to have everyone else go through to print) It should be installed on whatever computer is least used with good speed and memory.
Step 3. Once completed installing printer head to the control panel assuming you are using windows 2000/xp. click on printers and faxes. Find the printer you just installed and right click it. Now go to sharing. A window will pop up asking if you want to share or dont want to share. Click share and type in the name you want for the printer. press apply and ok.
Step 4. Now head off to your other computers and one by one repeat this step. Click on notepad(its fast) and type some gibberish. Go to file and press print. Click add printer, it will now show your network name. click on it and then click on the name of the computer you installed it too. Now find the name of the printer and double click it. It will now ask you if you want to use it as a defualt printer. Press yes and click ok and click print to test.
Step 5. lol, It should work! you should be done once done with step for on all computers. Let me know if this worked. Good Luck!

I know how to connect and share a printer on a network.

My main question was in reference to a wireless print server.

To use this product, does the printer HAVE to be connected to the wireless server?

If so, then when does the wireless print server step in?

DO i connect the printer to the wireless server , then once i add the printer, do i have to share it out on the wireless as well?
