I need to setup a print server. (Haven't done befor). I have a PIII PC and Windows 2000 professional. How do I install the printers onto the server. Do I need HP jetadmin? If I have to assign an IP(static or Dynamic) to the NIC on the printers, can HP jetadmin do the job?
So many questions, very little knowledge to go with. Can someone give me some advice?

Network printers which have a NIC don't need to use any third party software like JetAdmin.
Printers should have a STATIC IP address.
At the W2k computer, go to Start/Settings/Printers Select Add Printer.....Next Local printer..........Next Create a new port and arrow down to Standard TCP/IP Port...Next Next Printer Name or IP Address (Printer IP Address)...........Next In the Device Type box, Select Custom Select the Settings Button In the Protocol box, Select LPR In the LPR settings box, Imput the Queue Name ( This usually can be anything like, printer but some color printers need a specific name like xjdirect or xjprint or print.....) OK Next Finish Go on to add the printer drivers and to share the printer. Use a short share name so older systems can see the shared printer.
