I have a Linksys BEFRS41 Cable Router, and I am wondering if I will be able to setup mulitple computers to be able to access each other besides accessing the internet. I'm able to connect to the internet on all my other computers through my router, but I would like to be able to access files on my other computers. One computer had Windows 2000, Win 98, and Windows ME.

- For most purposes all you need is TCP/IP. Some games and applications require IPX/SPX be installed and NETBIOS bound to it. You could use NETBEUI protocol as well except that doesn't work on a "routed" network.
- all computers must be part of the same workgroup under Network ID/Identification and have unique computer names.
- File and printer sharing must be enabled on the computers you want to share files from and those files' or printers' properties must be marked as "shared". Once it's shared it will show up in Networking attached to the computer it's installed on.

Orion, I'm new to networking what steps do I need to take to get networked?
As you have TCP/IP working then you just need to install client for microsoft networks and file and printer sharing on all your computers. then share any folder you want.
