Got a bet going with my sister. I say you can't set up a wireless connection in my house without having a 'tethered' pc to set up the router. I have a laptop only in my apartment and I have always used a 'wired' pc to setup and then let the laptop read the wireless network. Hope I explained myself ok. Thanks

Pete

You can set up a wireless network without a wired PC but it is a lot easier if you do use a wired computer to setup.

A lot depends on the router and what the default settings for the wireless connections are. If they default to something that you can use to connect and you know what you are doing you can change the settings and re-connect with the new settings. If it defaults to wireless off then you are going to need a wired computer to turn it on. However, make a mistake and get something wrong you will have to press the re-set button and start again from scratch.

So a reading and thorough understanding of the manual will determine if you can or cannot.
